Our dogs have always caught the attention of other competitors where ever we trial in agility, herding, and obedience. Many wondered why there are not more of this versatile breed seen in these venues. We’re not sure. But we are committed to try improving the numbers of Belgian sheepdogs doing useful work and competing in sports. Our efforts include mentoring other Belgian owners in performance activities, making sure our own dogs represent the breed well, and now, producing Belgian sheepdogs with stable temperament and robust health.
We feel that every person who purchases a puppy from us becomes a partner in our effort maintain working capability in the Belgian sheepdog. We will use reports from trainers in herding, agility, SAR and other performance activities to better understand whether we are moving closer to our breeding objectives. Owners of companion dogs often underestimate their own role in a breeder’s program. However, health reports and test results for inherited diseases are crucial information for breeders, even for dogs whose most important job is a family companion.
All dogs and bitches used in our breeding program will have hip and elbows evaluated by OFA or PennHip, CERF examinations, and will have achieved success in one or more performance areas. Puppies will be sold under contract to screened purchasers only.
